There comes a time in the process of building any model boat when you need a stand. very few hulls are designed to sit solidly and level on a flat surface so no matter how long you put it off, you always want to sort this out for working on the superstructure.. There are many types of stands for model boats. some are meant to look good to display static models, while others are entirely utilitarian for hauling rc boats between one's vehicle and the water's edge. i believe it is virtually impossible to make a stand that is universal and look good. that's probably why there isn't much out there.. A design that allows the model to easily slide forward and back or jump off the stand when you are carrying the boat or in the car hit a bump,turn or stop short can ruin your boat.i learned this the hard way when trying to avoid hitting a dog. the model slid right off the stand and into the dashboard. fido survived just fine my boat got smashed..
